Fine 1800s French Empire Period Officer’s or Gentleman’s Pistol (Copy)

Offered is a wonderful French Empire period officer’s or gentleman’s pistol with the following descriptions:

A Fine French Empire Period Officer’s or Gentleman’s Flintlock Pistol, circa. 1790-1810. 8″.72 cal. swamped octagon barrel stamped on the left side of breech w/’ELG’ over a ‘STAR’ all within an oval (Liege, Belgium PROOF); w/engraved patent breech.

Lock unsigned but has nice decorative engraving; roller frizzen spring. All steel furniture w/decorative engraving. Pistol is in original flintlock configuration. Stock is solid w/old stress crack on the left side above the side nail (screw) area; fine checkered grip and has a small area in front of the trigger guard where there is a pattern of inlaid silver pieces; w/light scratches and dings from years of service.

Older all brass replacement ram rod. In good mechanical working order. This pistol may have seen service in the French Revolution, the American War of 1812 and the Napoleonic Wars.

Note; The cock (hammer) was broken and has been repaired.
