A Henryk Winograd Plaque “The Jewish Immigrants Coming to Ellis Island” HW .999 Silver Repoussé Marked 1985

Offered is a Henryk Winograd plaque depicting in magnificent high relief repoussé and amazing details the migration of the Jewish immigrants to Ellis island in New York City in 1902, all masterfully featured on a silver layer mounted on a base.

Ellis Island opened in 1892 as a federal immigration station. For more than 60 years millions of newly arrived immigrants passed through this station. It has been estimated that close to 40 percent of all current U.S. citizens can trace at least one of their ancestors to Ellis Island.

This magnificent art plaque is .999 silver, in excellent shape and condition, beautifully toned, marked and copyrighted in 1985 by its maker, Henryk Winograd, the master of silversmith and repoussé.

The wonderful Henryk Winograd work of art, measures 3.5 inch (9 cm) x 2.5 inch (6.5 cm) and weighs 235 grams.
